Nina Ehrmantrout

MOM

Tonight begins Rosh Hashana--the Jewish New Year, which is called in the Bible--the Feast of Tabernacles. This festival begins the "10 Days of Awe" which are deep days of reflection and introspection among Hebrew people all over the World. This holiday is commemorated by "round" Challah Bread--Sweet Apples dipped in Honey--to remind us of the "sweetness" of our being members of the covenant between God and the Israelite people; I especially love this holiday--as the sound of the Ram's Horn is sounded in it's varying blasts--"Tekiah--Tekiah--Tekiah;" each sound of the mighty Shofar building anticipation for the New Year to come. However, this year will be a different celebration; one where smiles will be present, but only to cover tears and shouts of joy are present but sound a little "forced" to say the least.

Last night, on the Eve of Rosh Hashana, YHVH--the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob--who we call "Jesus Christ" completed something started over 75 years ago when in His perfect will He chose to call home my Mother--now of blessed memory. Nina Ehrmantrout was a frail little woman--with a feisty demeanor--and a French accent that at times made me think of "Lebau" on Hogan's Hero's-- She was immigrant to the United States, who made her way to the "Land of the Free" and "The Home of the Brave" many decades ago. I'm not even sure we know where my Father Milo met her--but I am thankful that He did. After a vicious divorce separated my Father and my birth Mother Judy, my Father was bumping through the walls of life--broken hearted and wondering what the next 40 years of his life would be like.

My Father met Nina some 36 years ago now--and married her; my Father remarked on several occasions of the fact that Nina Ehrmantrout was the missing link to His happiness and that they were very happy together. At no time did I ever hear them yell at one another--see them fight--or hear a cross word uttered between them; were they there--certainly, as they were human--I just never once witnessed it. I tried hard to make Nina's life miserable--because she had the audacity of marrying my Father--and She was not my birth Mother--which made her open game for tormenting--especially if you are a 13 year old boy. She weathered the storms that I caused, and even in the deepest despair of my long and silent drug addiction--Nina often spoke kind words of soothing comfort and encouragement to me--while never wavering in her love.

Now in my family dynamic--my Father and I are very close--and my Brother and Sister are and remain closer to our birth Mother Judy. But, let me state for the record that this is no indictment of my birth Mother--may she be ever blessed for giving me life and many other things; I only mention it as a statement of fact. Because I was closer to Dad, I eventually grew much closer to my "Step-Mother"-- if there even is any such a thing as a "Step-Parent?" This is because Mom never made me feel like a "Step" or "Unwanted-Outside" anything. Even so, no matter how much trouble I gave her when I was young--Mom just continued to love me and be kind to me at some of the lowest points of my life. Through prison and rehabilitation--Mom was steadfastly at my Father's side--loving me, and being there for my family. It was this continuous love that over time, began to blur those lines of "Step" and phrases like "My Father's Wife" replacing them with "Mother" and lastly as "Friend." You see --before I new it--Nina Ehrmantrout had taken a deep and resounding place in my heart--that place of "Mother." Our relationship was good and strong until the end and one of my greatest life's joy's will be the knowledge that Sarah and I were blessed with the opportunity to supply my Mother and Father's last Thanksgiving Day meal that they would ever share together; a meal my Father said Mom definitely enjoyed.

I could reminisce for hours, but just let me say that I will miss Mother in ways I never thought possible; but the enduring blessing of my belief in Jesus Christ is that through His sacrificial love and gift of grace--that the pain of separation is now soothed as His gift will result in our seeing each other once again--face to face--never to be separated again by the residuals of Adam's fall. This gives me joyous hope in times of struggle and will give my family the peace--in the storm of life's trials--that will allow us to all sleep without fear of being separated--with no hope and no peace in this life. When I was 13--I perceived that I had lost my Father; the truth however is that not only did I not loose Him--but this time He gave me a gift that will forever be the twinkle in my eye and the gleam in my smile--you see God and my Father gave me two Mothers to love me and care for me; and what I was certain of at the young age of 13 was a great "curse"--became one of my life's greatest blessings: My Mom: Mrs. Nina Ehrmantrout.

Walking Clean in an Unclean World

Today’s Message: “WALKING CLEAN IN AN UNCLEAN WORLD” by Pastor Ariel

Today's Reading is Leviticus 11:39-45

Leviticus 11:39-45 “39 "'If an animal that you are allowed to eat dies, anyone who touches the carcass will be unclean till evening. Anyone who eats some of the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening. Anyone who picks up the carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean till evening. Every creature that moves about on the ground is detestable; it is not to be eaten. You are not to eat any creature that moves about on the ground, whether it moves on its belly or walks on all fours or on many feet; it is detestable. Do not defile yourselves by any of these creatures. Do not make yourselves unclean by means of them or be made unclean by them. I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy. Do not make yourselves unclean by any creature that moves about on the ground. I am the LORD who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy”

1. When we come to faith in the Lord Jesus and begin walking in His ways [The Torah--The Word of God], our God begins the process of separating you from the world around you--as Holy unto the Lord. Holiness is a separated STATE OF BEING--where you may be physically in this world--but you are no longer SPIRITUALLY OF--this world any longer.

2 Corinthians 5:16-21 says “16So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

And 2 Corinthians 6:16-17 Paul is teaching us when He says “16What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you”

A. When you are born again--you are reborn and go through a “status--change” that removes you from the "common" and "unclean" and transports you to the Kingdom of Light as you begin walking in a DIFFERENT STATUS here on earth--called “The Olam Haba in Hebrew”--or the "World to come." NOTHING THAT HINDERED YOU in your FORMER STATUS--HAS ANY HOLD OVER YOU ANY MORE! Adams status was failure--JESUS STATUS IS SUCCESS!

In Matthew 19:26 “Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Isaiah 54:17 speaks of how this STATUS CHANGE affects our walk when it says “17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD.”

B. You are now free from the elementary things of this world--worrying about your food and your clothing--living with damage from past victimizations-- former relationships--and worrying about your children’s fate--and you have been transported into the RESSURECTED WORLD OF JESUS the Messiah--WHERE THERE IS "NO" DEATH ON "ANY" LEVEL.

Matthew 6:31-33 says “31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles [Gentile means "Confused Pagan Unbelievers"--of THIS polluted Realm] seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the Kingdom of God [The "Kingdom of God" is a Supreme Messianic Term meaning the "UNPOLLUTED WORLD--that WAS TO COME"--and that CAME IN JESUS and now LIVES IN YOU] and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Revelation 20:6 says “Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years."

What does it mean to be BLESSED? Psalm 1:1-6 says “1 Blessed [Walking in the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth--empowerment to live the life of Jesus--right now] is the man who does not walk [Live] in the counsel of the wicked [Torah--The Word of God violating "Spiritual Criminals"] or stand in the way of sinners [Torah--or "Bible" Violators] or sit in the seat of mockers. [The Arrogant] But his delight is in the law of the LORD, [Torah: God's teaching and instructions for a successful life] and on his law [Torah: God's teaching and instructions for a successful life] he meditates day and night. He is like a tree [the "Etz Chayim"in Hebrew--or the "Tree of Life"--which is Jesus] planted by streams of water, [Jesus Spirit--the Living Water] which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf [Jesus Brothers] does not wither [Go down to the realm of Death.] Whatever he does prospers [or "Rushes to Success"]. Not so the wicked! [Biblical Criminals--or Lawless] They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked [Biblical Criminals--or the Lawless] will not stand in the judgment, [Adoption of the Saints] nor sinners [Torah--or "Bible" Violators] in the assembly of the righteous.[Those who adhere to the Torah of God--or the "Word of God"] For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, [Those who adhere to the Torah of God--God's teachings written down for our instruction] but the way of the wicked [Torah--or Biblical Criminal] will perish. [Live constantly in the realm of Death]

C. We are to leave the elementary things of this world behind--and we have now been separated out as “Holy unto the Lord.” So why do we still have real world failures? Why do we buy into the Greek mindset of a “LAST DAYS APOCCALYPSE?” The reason is that we have allowed our "NEPHESH" or "SOUL REALM" [Which gateway is the MIND] to become POLLUTED. A Little pollution of this “Common and Unclean” world--results in a magnification of IMPURITY in the Spiritual World--which results in POWERLESSNESS IN THIS REALM! Everything done in this world is MAGNIFIED in the “Olam Haba--the World to Come--which is in our Children.”

Hebrews 5:12-6:6 says “12In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.[Torah] But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God [Torah] and the powers of the coming age, [Kingdom of God--the Olam Haba--Right Here and Right Now] if they fall away, [Back to the Realm of SIN AND DEATH] to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace"

D. Scripture prophecies in Jeremiah 44 that in the last days--God’s Prophets and Priest will teach [live a lifestyle] of Clean and Unclean--Holy and Unholy--keeping the Festivals and Feasts of the Lord our God. Jesus ALREADY restored both Earth and Man back to a place of cleanliness of the "Nephesh" in Hebrew or we would say the "Soul"--BUT--we have believed the LIE of the ENEMY that has convinced us--that what GOD has for us is IN THE FUTURE--OFF IN HEAVEN and not for the HERE AND NOW--the LIE that we still occupy the realm of SIN AND DEATH which JESUS DIED TO FREE US FROM!

1 Peter 2:9-11 the Apostle Peter states “9But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Dear friends, I urge you, as aliens and strangers in the world, [Realm of Sin and Death] to abstain from sinful desires, which war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us."

The Priesthood of Ezekiel’s “Third Temple” is described in Ezekiel 44:23-24 when it says “23 They are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean. 'In any dispute, the priests are to serve as judges and decide it according to my ordinances. They are to keep my laws and my decrees for all my appointed feasts, and they are to keep my Sabbaths holy.”

E. Our job is to live a SEPARATED LIFE FROM THE REALM OF SIN AND DEATH as a TESTIMONY against the ways of LAWLESSNESS. The more we walk free of the POLLUTION of this CARNAL WORLD-[Slander, judgment, sexual perversion, greed, television shows we ought not to watch etc.]--the more God will manifest miracles in our life that belong to the WORLD THAT HAS COME IN MESSIAH. As we live a CLEAN [Torah--or Biblically Obedient] LIFESTYLES--which are not polluted by the things that this world offers--then our lives become LIVING SACRIFICES--DEAD to this FORMER CARNAL WORLD THROUGH SCRIPTURAL OBEDIENCE--and ALIVE to a MIRACLE DRIVEN EXISTENCE. ONLY THEN will the HOLY FIRE OF GOD--consume the offering of your life!

Romans 12:2 Paul says “1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.[Torah: God's teaching and instructions for a successful life]

2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1 Paul sums it up for us when He writes “14Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. [AS YOU WILL BE IN TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS] For what partnership has righteousness [Scripture Keeping] with lawlessness [Scripture Violating]? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ [The Second and Perfect Adam] with Belial? [The First Adam tricked into slavery by Satan] Or what portion does a believer [One who's born again and grafted into Israel] share with an unbeliever? [A "Gentile" or "Confused Pagan Unbeliever"] What agreement has the Temple of God [US] with idols? [The realm of Sin and Death] For we are the Temple of the living God; as God said, I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, [Leaving the Realm of Sin and Death behind] says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; [Touch nothing from the realm of Sin and Death] -- then I will welcome you, [into the REALM OF LIFE--JESUS] and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus” by Pastor Ariel

The Hebrew language cannot be accurately transmitted linguistically across socio-cultural lines

The Bible you have is a TRANSLATION

Jesus did not use the King James Version of the Bible

To understand the intent of the Scripture—we have to look into the original language for the best understanding

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

We are constantly sold a Western Cultural or European view of Jesus and the Disciples?

How many people here today know that the Malibu Ken Doll version of Jesus that you see in most Christian Bookstores is not an accurate view of the 1st century Jewish Theologian we call Jesus Christ?

There is a STRONG likelihood that the people at the last supper—had a pretty significant “Tan” –isn't that correct?

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

To BEST understand Jesus—it is BEST to try to understand the socio-cultural surroundings of His Life and times—so we can come to a better
Understanding of WHO our MESSIAH was and IS TODAY!

Using the Hebrew language is the best way we can get an authentic “feel” for the culture that has so influenced our lives today.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

WEBSTER’S DICTIONARY DEFINES “IDIOMS” AS:
A speech form or an expression of a given language that is peculiar to itself grammatically or cannot be understood from the individual meanings of its elements

A. A specialized vocabulary used by a group of people; jargon: legal idiom.
B. A style or manner of expression peculiar to a given people.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

So to understand a “First Century Ultra Orthodox Jewish Rabbi” which is EXACTLY WHO and WHAT JESUS WAS —it is important for us to try to push into learning the Hebrew Roots of our shared faith.

This will give us a greater level of understanding the teachings of our Master and better equip us for being effective in the last days as God is preparing to return.

Plus –it will open up the Scripture to YOU in a whole NEW and EXCITING WAY! The First Idiom of Jesus we will explore is: “SOUNDING THE TRUMPET”

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

MATTHEW 6:1-3
"Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. 3But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

We look and naturally think “Sounding the Shofar” when we read this phrase "SOUNDING THE TRUMPETS?”

Sounding the trumpet as found in Matthew 6:1-4 is a warning by the Master to His Disciples—not to sound the trumpet when giving ALMS--ALMS was a Synonym for a Charitable gift that was required to be given to the poor. Since Jesus had already agreed with the need for these ALMS to be given as is commanded in the Torah—God’s teaching and instruction in Deuteronomy 15:10-and that there was a reward for all who offered gifts to the poor—he was OBVIOUSLY NOT AGAINST GIVING TO THE POOR!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

The Ancient Jews believed that there were 3 evidences of the purity of a man’s heart—that would be seen if the man or woman was following hard after God and had repented of sin. These 3 qualities were: PRAYER -CHARITY-and REPENTENCE

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

In the OUTER COURT —known as the Women’s Court of the 2nd Temple there were 13 collection boxes for ALMS for the widows the poor and the orphans.

Amazingly these collection boxes are STILL in Jewish Communities to this very day. They are called TZEDAKAH BOXES—or RIGHTEOUSNESS BOXES

Exodus 22:22-23 says “"You shall not afflict any widow or fatherless child. If you afflict them in any way, and they cry at all to Me, I will surely hear their cry; and My wrath will become hot, and I will kill you with the sword; your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.”

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

We Do MITVAHS = GOOD DEEDS

On Friday--we collect these boxes and the “TZADIK”—these are generally the Bible Students collect these boxes and they distribute the funds to the POOR the WIDOW and the ORPHAN among the Community

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-Again the 3 virtues of a Spirit Filled Life were considered to be Prayer, Charity and Repentance
-In the OUTER COURT—known as the Women’s Court of the 2nd Temple there were 13 collection boxes for ALMS for the widows the poor and the orphans.
-These ALMS –OR Tzedakah Boxes we very LARGE at The BOTTOM and very NARROW at the top—making them look like “TRUMPETS.”
(Imagine a LARGE WOODEN HERSHEY’S KISS)

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-The Pharisee’s—never lacking for an event to show off their self righteousness—would drop LARGE HANDFULS OF COINS INTO THESE WOODEN CONTAINERS —which would make a very LOUD
SOUND as the coins raced through the NARROW LIP TZEDAKAH BOXES this was known as “SOUNDING THE TRUMPETS” In an attempt to draw peoples attention to the givers act of “righteousness”

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-It was not the act of giving in public that Jesus had a problem with

-It was however—the attempt by some RELIGIOUS PEOPLE to BRING ATTENTION to HOW MUCH THEY GAVE —that the Lord had a problem with.

-Giving is about our NEIGHBOR not OURSELF! So he cautioned the Apostles to not SOUND THE TRUMPETS when giving as was required!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus #2”

THE GOOD EYE AND THE BAD EYE

MATTHEW 6:22-23
22"The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

When we look at this from the Western Cultural Perspective—it is different than what we understand today.

These were ancient Jewish sayings that were common to the life of a first century ancient Jewish mind.

In the first Century world of Jesus—the simple term EYE or SIMPLE EYE —Meant that a person was GENEROUS

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-The BAD EYE —or the EVIL EYE —meant that a person was STINGY
-A Rabbi would say— IF A PERSON GIVES A GIFT—LET HIM GIVE IT WITH A GOOD EYE

-During the first century—the school of Hillel—which Jesus is most commonly-- doctrinally associated by the Jewish Historians-- taught that a person who gave ¼ of THEIR INCOME was considered to have A GOOD EYE!

-A Person who gave LESS THAN 1/4 of their INCOME was considered to have and EVIL EYE. THIS WAS IN ADDITION TO THE 10% TITHE that was REQUIRED of ALL ISRAELITES

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Jewish Historian Rabbi David Flouser in Israel affirms "Jesus was a Jew in every way—He was part and parcel of the world of the Jewish Sages. Jesus was NO ignorant
Peasant—and His acquaintance with both the Oral and Written Law was considerable!”

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus III”
BLIND BARTIMAEUS

MARK 10:46-52 Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. 47And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" 48Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" 49So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.
Then they called the blind man, saying to him, "Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you." …….

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus #2”

MARK 10:46-52

And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So Jesus answered and said to him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight." Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-It was understood in the Hebrew Law—that in Israel during this time—which was under Roman law—that ALL Beggars had to have a PERMIT to
BEG FOR ALMS AT THE TEMPLE!

--All Beggars were issued a specific colored Tallit or Prayer Shawls—so that people would not harass—or embarrass those who were less fortunate.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

If you had a certain color of Tallit—you were licensed to Beg—and people would give you Money—like the TZEDEKAH BOXES. So looking back at Matthew 10……..

Matthew 10:50-52

50And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

Bartimaeus had been a beggar his whole life! He had a LICENSE to Beg. BUT when the MESSIAH—the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords comes in your midst—and tells you to come and follow Him—how many here today know—that is when you receive your SIGHT and have NO FURTHER NEED OF BEGGING —because He agrees to supply all your needs according to His riches and glory in Messiah!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus IV"

God has a way of getting His messages across to us! Please turn your Bible to John 20:6-7

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

John 20:1-7

Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him." 3Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. 4So they both ran together and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. 5And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.
“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”
In a Hebrew burial—the body is prepared for burial—this ceremony is called a TEHARAH

During the Teharah—the body is wrapped with clean lined strips of cloth made from the Prayer Shawl that the person wore during their Bar Mitzvah—with it fringes removed—while prayers are recited by the Rabbi doing it. In John 19 Jesus was crucified—and then Joseph of Aramathia and Nicodemus—the Sanhedrin Member—came and made TEHARAH FOR JESUS.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

John 19:39-40

39And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. 40Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus IV”

6Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.

A Tallit or Prayer Shawl is also referred to as a: “HANKERCHIEF”

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

It was the custom to offer guests to your home A Tallit to wear doing a visit to your home for gatherings as formal as a dinner. If your guest REALLY ENJOYED THE MEAL —they would WAD THE “HANKERCHIEF —or “NAPKIN” and would leave it there as a compliment to the Host and a sign that they would return the next Sabbath for a similar meal in the future.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

If your Guest disliked the meal—and had no desire to return for a similar meal—they would FOLD UP THE NAPKIN—LEAVING IT ON A TABLE as a sign that their stay had not been enjoyable-and THEY HAD NO INTENTION OF RETURNING THERE EVER AGAIN!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

John 20:6-7

6Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

OUR HEBREW SPEAKING GOD
-Early in our History—the Tower of Babel—YHVH (God) Confounded the Human Language. This confusion of language involved much more than just the dismantling of the first pure language into many different tongues.

-Rather YHVH (God) also disordered the human Language at the personal level. For example even though we speak the same language (i.e. English) we may
not fully understand what each other is trying to say

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Held within this concept is a spiritual truth—in the study Of Human Language Development this concept is illustrated:

1-Babies enter into a babbling stage

2-The babies enter a one word stage—and then a two word stage—until as a young child they begin to construct sentences. So it is with the restoration of God’s PURE LANGUAGE God prophesied through Zephaniah that He would restore to the peoples—a pure language—that we may ALL serve Him with one accord! Zephaniah 3:9

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-Our study of Jesus teachings through Hebrew Roots is a partial fulfillment of Zephaniahs prophecy of the return of the pure language!!!!!!

-Through the Unity of the Holy Spirit, followers of Jesus can again be in ONE accord! Consider the first century Believers who were all in ONE accord in the upper room!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Genesis 11:1-9
1 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3Then they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly." They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4And they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth." ……

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Genesis 11:1-9
But the LORD came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6And the LORD said, "Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." 8So the LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. 9Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Zephaniah 3:9-10
For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that they all may call on the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one accord. 10From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my worshipers, the daughter of My dispersed ones, Shall bring My offering.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Act 2:1-4

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance…..

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-You see these were the 70 nations listed in the Scripture
-And why were they in Jerusalem?
-3 Times per Year God commands that ALL Men to come to Jerusalem—to the Temple and present themselves before him—these are referred to as the REGE’LIM (Leviticus 23 and Exodus 23)

The REGE’LIM ARE: Passover, Shavuot (Pentecost) and the Feast of Tabernacles—or Sukkot.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-At Pentecost it is believed that we will all be Speaking ONE LANGUAGE IN ISRAEL

-Jesus used four basic types of Biblical Teachings in His day that were also used by the Pharisees.

-Jesus was known—as was Paul—as a "Pharisee of Pharisees."

- Pharisee was never seen as negative until the linguistic change of the Greco-Roman age -In fact— Pharisees wrote YOUR BIBLE!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-The four basic teaching styles used by Jesus:

1-Pashat (meaning SIMPLE) or the “Literal Meaning of the Text

2- Remez (HINT) Referencing back to and earlier text—to interpret the one you are studying. (Ps 22)
3-Drash (Search Out) Discussing a Scripture from a personal perspective (All things are established by 2 or 3 witnesses—this is why we NEED or Neighbors—Hebrew Schools are set up in a Circle vs. Greek system—
with an Actor upfront)

4- Sod (Divine Revelation) The Secret Things of God—for those who search the Hebrew Language to find out the hidden meanings (2 Timothy 2:15)

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Now let me show you the PARDES in Action:

Exodus 2:1-2
And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. 2So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months.

-Okay—now let's see them in action--In Hebrew we know that if a Woman gives Birth—she is NOT to have relations with her husband for 7 days plus 33 for a Male Child in the book of Leviticus-- This is 40 days.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

--If a woman has a female Child —it is doubled of 14 days for ritual purity and 66 days for the period of restriction—or 80 Days

-Now when you add together the amount of time of the cleansing of a male = 40 and the cleansing of a Female = 80 then your have =120 days

-How many people were in the upper room? 120!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

--Now—they hid Moses for 90 days—why 90 days?

--Remember the Edict from Pharaoh—had been that All MALE CHILDREN 2 years old and under were to be killed

--They hid Moses for 90 days—to send a CLEAR and convincing sign to Pharaoh and his agents that the Child was NOT A BOY (40 days) but a GIRL (80 Days) —so as to keep Moses from being killed by Pharaohs decree.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

--Moses is a type and shadow of Jesus—the first Moses—Jesus is the Second Moses—First Adam and Second Adam

-The word translated as “ASPHALT” or “PITCH” comes from the Hebrew word “Kippur” which means “TO COVER” –and it is where we get the idea “To cover—or seal in blood”

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Exodus 2:3

3But when she could no longer hide him, she took an
Ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river's bank."

--MOSES was placed in an ARC—and we have the ARC of the covenant—and it is the SAME word that is used for NOAH and the ARC.

--The SAME EXACT MATERIAL that was used for Noah’s ARC was used to make this little basket that Moses was carried in

-Noah—was floating in the midst of Judgment—but they never entered INTO JUDGMENT —because of the ARC.

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Exodus 2:4-5
4And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him. 5Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it.
“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-A River is a living body of Water—it is moving constantly—and a Sea is a DEAD body of Water.

-We use living bodies of water to MIKVAH—or BAPTIZE people. When somebody comes up out of the Water—the Jews will cry out “BORN AGAIN”

-It is the terminology that is used when a STATUS CHANGE takes place—they come up out of the water "BORN AGAIN"

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Exodus 2:5

"5Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river. And her maidens walked along the riverside; and when she saw the ark among the reeds, she sent her maid to get it."

-So MOSES is IN THE ARC —which is IN THE WATER —which is hidden in the Reeds
-When God circumcises our hearts—he removes the “covering” or He REMOVES THE REEDS as when you are walking by the river side so when you look --we can FIND THE TORAH and the TORAH GIVER = MOSES

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Hebrews 8:8-10

"8Because finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah-- 9not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the LORD. 10For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

“What it really says…..”

Hebrews 8:8-10

"8Because finding fault with them, He says: "Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a REPAIRED OR RENEWED PRIESTHOOD with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah-- 9not according to the PRIESTHOOD that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My PRIESTHOOD [MALKI-TZEDEK], and I disregarded them, says the LORD. [FROM MALKI-TZEDEK AND GAVE THEM THE LEVITE PRIESTHOOD] 10For this is the PRIESTHOOD that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws [TORAH] in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-God has written the Torah on your HEART and on Your MIND

-So—when you are searching—in the LIVING WATER —the MAYIM HAYIM -or the WATER OF LIFE —which is Jesus Christ=the Living Water—and He is taking You along the RIVER OF LIFE and you look—and IN THE REEDS —you SEE THE TORAH and the TORAH GIVER

-And she looks into the REEDS and in the WATER Of LIFE. She sees the Torah and the Torah giver—she reaches in—and takes out the what? The ARC—and in verse 6…….
“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Exodus 2:6
"6And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, "This is one of the Hebrews' children."
-So she opens the ARC and what is in it? The Torah and the Torah giver -YOU ARE THE ARC TODAY 1 Corinthians 3:16 says “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Now when you open the Torah Today—just like Pharaohs daughter—when she opened the Arc what did she find? SHE FOUND A CHILD —what
did you find-when you opened up the Arc? Isaiah 9:6 says "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. "

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

Exodus 2:6
"6And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, "This is one of the Hebrews' children."

-How did Pharaohs daughter know he was a HEBREW—because he had been CIRCUMCISED!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

-How do we know that you are circumcised in your heart today? WHEN YOU START FOLLOWING THE TORAH: God’s Teaching and Instruction--the Word of God

-You ask Jesus into your heart—He saves you— look into the MAYIM HAYIM —the "Living Water" and You draw out the ARC of the Covenant, COVERED IN BLOOD (pitch)—which Leads you to the Torah and the Torah giver and Your heart is circumcised (Romans 11 calls you a Hebrew—grafted into the Natural Olive Tree that is Israel)—and you start following the Child of Isaiah 9:6 —which is Yeshua –Jesus our Messiah! Amen!

“The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus”

To fully understand the teachings of Jesus—it is Critical for us to follow the instructions of Paul to his Young Pastor Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15 which states “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

-The Hebrew Idioms of Jesus will help us to get a better level of understand and help us to rightly divide the word of truth! Thank you for watching!

The End

"The Woman at the Well"

“WOMAN AT THE WELL: A STORY OF REDEMPTION”
Scripture Reading: John 4:4-54
Part 1

1. The Woman at the Well: Redeeming The Church Through Torah [Torah is the Jewish way of saying "The Word of God"]

A. Jesus returned to the LAND given to Joseph by Jacob—the spot of Jacobs Well—where the place Josephs bones were buried (In Ezekiel it is referred to as the VALLEY OF DRY BONES!)

Ezekiel 37:1-2 “The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.”

"Dry Bones" is a Hebraic Idiomatic statement for being "separated from Torah: Gods Teaching and Instruction"

B.
Jesus came to a town called "Shakar"—meaning "a town of Drunkenness" in Samaria (The Samaritans were the blood descendents of the lost 10 and 1/2 Northern Tribes called "Ephraim" and "The House of Israel" that had intermarried with the Canaanites before the time of Ezra.)

Jeremiah 51:7 says “Babylon was a gold cup in the LORD's hand; she made the whole earth drunk.(the Hebrew word "SHAKAR") The nations drank her wine; therefore they have now gone mad.

Deuteronomy 28:34 says of those who violate the Covenant, “The sights you see will drive you mad.”

C-
Jesus came and Sat by the Well of Jacob—which Jacob had given to Joseph many years before. He sat next to this well—and the Samaritan Woman came to "Jacobs Well" to draw water the way she always had—following her fathers ways—while the rest of the Judean Disciples went into town to buy some food. (This was unprecedented, considering Jews and Samaritans were mortal enemies--even though they were distant cousins!)

Genesis 24:43-44 says “See, I am standing beside this spring; if a maiden comes out to draw water and I say to her, "Please let me drink a little water from your jar," and if she says to me, "Drink, and I'll draw water for your camels too," let her be the one the LORD has chosen for my master's son.'

Zechariah 1:4 says “Do not be like your forefathers, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.' But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the LORD.

D.
Jesus makes the first move—He asks her “Will you give me a drink?” Abrahams Servant "Eliezer" meaning "God's Servant" asks another Foreign Girl this same exact question in Genesis 24:45

Genesis 24:45 "Before I finished praying in my heart, Rebeccah came out, with her jar on her shoulder. She went down to the spring and drew water, and I said to her, 'Please give me a drink.'”

2. JEWS AND SAMARITANS: NO LOVE LOSS THERE!

A.
She asks him how can she give Him a Drink—He is a Jew and Jews have NO ASSOCIATION with Samaritans Jesus makes his statement to her that if She only knew the "Gift of God" and who was asking her—then things may be different.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says of the gift of God “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”

B.
Jesus then states that if she recognized who it was that was asking- If She will only ask—He will freely give her—Living Water

John 5:46-47 says “If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?"

What did she see—a Jew—A Rabbi—the Jewish Rabbi had the Living Water –that the Samaritans had not had access to upon the Altar of God in Centuries. During the Feast of Tabernacles which is called "Sukkot" there was a Festival amidst the Jews that is called “Simchat bet ha Sho'ebhah" - "Joy of the House of Drawing" (water) - or the "Ceremony of Water Libation"—The High Priest Would Pour Water Upon the Sacrificial Alter during the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot—which would ensure the life giving rains would come to the desert land of Israel—but the Samaritans were kept separate—outsiders to this—refused entry into Jerusalem and thus bound to dryness—that meant death in the Middle East.

C.
She finds Jesus is not ready to draw water from the OLD WELL—and She asks where she can find this living water—she asks if Jesus is greater than the patriarch "Jacob"—meaning is this water greater than the old ways handed down from her Fathers?

Jeremiah 16:19 says “O LORD, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, “Our fathers possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good.”

D.
Jesus responds—whoever drinks of the Natural water of "Jacob"—meaning expects to be saved by keeping the traditions of the Patriarch "Jacob"--will be left still thirsty --But whoever will drink the water-- the message of the "Living Torah"--Jesus Christ-- led by the Spirit-- will never thirst again. In fact this will become a well the springs up to eternal life for others!

Isaiah 49:10 says “They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.

E. So She (Ephraim) asks for this living Water (Spirit led Torah) –but she asks with wrong motives at first—it is to avoid having to do work (like some today that wants Jesus but they do not want to do the Word of God by the Spirit)

James 4:2-3 says “You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.”

3. The Messiah Tells Her To Do What She Cannot Do

A.
Hell tells her to call her Husband (God had divorced her ancestors years ago for their failure to obey his covenants) and come back and she replies truthfully—"I Have no Husband"—as She is not a Bride, nor is She a Widow—but She had become a prostitute.

Jeremiah 3:8 says “I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery.

B.
She has had 5 husbands—and her current affair is not her Husband. 5 is the number of Grace—which is required as they are in "Sydon" –the "place of drunkenness" –from the Hebrew root word "SHAKAR"—or to be "drunk." "Ephraim" -- today is coming out of a state of "drunkenness" from Gods wrath in the Nations—in need of Grace!

Jeremiah 51:7 says “Babylon was a gold cup in the LORD's hand; she made the whole earth drunk.(SHAKAR) The nations drank her wine; therefore they have now gone mad.

C.
She then admits Jesus is a Prophet—recognizes there is something special about Him--But cannot seem to hear Him clearly—this is many Ephraimites in the Church today.

Zechariah 7:7-12 says “Are these not the words the LORD proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem and its surrounding towns were at rest and prosperous, and the Negev and the western foothills were settled?' "And the word of the LORD came again to Zechariah: "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. In your hearts do not think evil of each other.' But they refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned their backs and stopped up their ears. They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the LORD Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the LORD Almighty was very angry.

D.
She states that Her Fathers worshipped on this Mountain --or Mount Gerizim—instead of "Mount Ebal" or Jerusalem—following the ways of Ahab of the Northern Tribes in 1 Kings 16:29-33—in other words—they added to the Scriptures and made a "Torah" of their own devoid of any reference to Jews—this is how it had been done for years-- but She states that "Judah says to worship in Jerusalem"—where She as a "Samaritan" could not go—as Ezra had banned the Samaritans at the rebuilding of the Temple from Jerusalem.

Ezra 10:2-8 says “Then Shekinah son of Jehiel, one of the descendants of Elam, said to Ezra, "We have been unfaithful to our God by marrying foreign women from the peoples around us. But in spite of this, there is still hope for Israel. Now let us make a covenant before our God to send away all these women and their children, in accordance with the counsel of my lord and of those who fear the commands of our God. Let it be done according to the Law. Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it." So Ezra rose up and put the leading priests and Levites and all Israel under oath to do what had been suggested. And they took the oath. Then Ezra withdrew from before the house of God and went to the room of Jehohanan son of Eliashib. While he was there, he ate no food and drank no water, because he continued to mourn over the unfaithfulness of the exiles. A proclamation was then issued throughout Judah and Jerusalem for all the exiles to assemble in Jerusalem. Anyone who failed to appear within three days would forfeit all his property, in accordance with the decision of the officials and elders, and would himself be expelled from the assembly of the exiles.”

Ephesians 2:12-13 says “remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.”

4.
Jesus says the Samaritan Woman worships "what she does not know."

A.
Jesus says she worships what she does not know (A Shadow of the Church keeping many of Torahs tenants— which are quoted 85% of the time in the NT) and Jews worship what they do Know (Written Torah—but only academically—not by the Spirit) and that salvation (Jesus) is from the Jews ( meaning the Messiah was from the ancestral tribe of "Judah" like King David before him—Jesus is the living--life giving TORAH comes through "JUDAH" to the Nations of the world!)

Luke 13:22-30 says, "Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, "Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?" He said to them, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, 'Sir, open the door for us.' "But he will answer, 'I don't know you or where you come from.'
"Then you will say, 'We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.' "But he will reply, 'I don't know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!' "There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last."

B.
Then Jesus says a time is coming—and is now come—when people WHO ARE TRUE WORSHIPPERS-- will have to Worship in "Spirit" and in "Truth" -FOR THEY ARE WHO GODS SEEKS AS WORSHIPPERS!

John 4:23-24 says “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

C.
God is Spirit—Jesus says—and those who worship Him must do so IN-- SPIRIT and TRUTH—this means by the REST of Jeremiah 23:6 and following the Torah’s principles as a compass—being led by the Holy Spirit. Torah are books of prophecy—so the portable tabernacle in the wilderness had to happen again—which we celebrated in the Feast of Tabernacles or "Sukkot"—the Tabernacle of God—the portable "Mishkan: Temple" in the wilderness—when He gathers us out of our Egypt--our places of "Bondage"—then we make up Ezekiel’s Temple!

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 says “Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.”

D.
She says—I know one day Messiah is Coming—(This is many in the Church today—she was following the ways of her fathers that were mixed with the pagan nations—but She new Messiah was coming). She says --He will explain everything to us—and Jesus TELLS HER—HE IS THE MESSIAH!

John 4: 25-26 says “The woman said, "I know that Messiah" (called Christ) "is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us." Then Jesus declared, "I who speak to you am he."

PART TWO

1. Review

A.
The Samaritan Woman at the Well is a representation of the secular "Church" Today. She is a Samaritan—the Samaritans and the Judeans will not associate—and haven't since the time of Ezra the Priest.

B. She is coming to the well of Jacob to get water—Just like Rebeccah was getting water when Eliezer was looking for the Bride for the Son of Promise—Isaac—the Son of Abraham. And Just Like Eliezer—Jesus asked the girl for a drink of water—this was the sign that Eliezer had found the Bride for the Son of Promise

C. She left us last week indicating that She new the Messiah was due to be born—and that He would make all things clear—and Jesus says “I AM HE”—meaning—I am the Messiah! She is about to run off to the town and witness to the Samaritans…

D.
The Apostles—Judah of the day--had gone into Jerusalem to buy food and had been gone and they return to find Jesus doing something that is just not done by Orthodox Jewish Rabbi’s.

2. The Disciples Return

A.
Then the Apostles return—see Jesus with the Samaritan—but say nothing (even though it was not done that way. When THEY SEE HER WITH HIM—Samaria with JUDAH-- Ephraim with Judah—a type and shadow of Christians and Jews together--they say nothing but they watch with great intent—just like Jews today watch us when we speak about the Torah –The Samaritan leaves her water Jar behind—which is a prophecy of Ephraim leaving the ways of their fathers behind to follow Torah

Jeremiah 16:19 says that in the last days Ephraim will say “O LORD, my strength and my fortress, my refuge in time of distress, to you the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, "Our fathers possessed nothing but false gods, worthless idols that did them no good”

B.
Now the Samaritan Woman (Former Prostitute—who now is the Bride) runs off to tell everyone (This is a Shadow of the Church witnessing about Jesus--the living Torah—the Living Water poured out for us on Sukkot--

Acts 1: 8 says “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

C.
Jesus is the Water of Life—On Tabernacles a water offering was poured out on the altar. It was only during the Sukkot Festival that this was done in fulfillment of Isaiah who had prophesied in

Isaiah 12:3 “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation”

3. The Temple Ritual on Sukkot

A.
Temple rituals at Tabernacles --"Simchat bet ha Sho'ebhah" - Joy of the House of Drawing (water) - Ceremony of Water Libation

B. Every morning of the feast there was a joyous procession to the Pool of Siloam, with music, headed by a priest with a golden pitcher (a little over 2 pints). At the same time there was a procession to the Kidron Valley to collect willow branches which were made into a canopy over the altar of burnt offerings. As the sacrifice proceeded, the priest returning with the water entered through the Water Gate (named for this event). With a threefold trumpet blast he poured the water into a silver receptacle on the altar.

C.
The rainy season begins after the Feast of Tabernacles. Rain is needed to soften the ground ready for plowing. This celebration became associated with looking to the Lord for the rains. It also reminded of the water out of the rock in the wilderness, and of messianic promises such as Isaiah 12:3 about "joyfully drawing water from the springs of salvation". It is interesting that this offering of water is made at the end of the dry season when water is scarcer - thus it is an act of faith; trusting in the rains to come.

D. Failure to do so brought about Punishment

Zechariah 14:16-17 says “Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain.”

4. The Revival comes as the Samaritan’s return

A.
The Samaritans make their way out of Gerizim to see Jesus (this is a picture of the "out gathering of the Church" in the last days by their understanding the Torah)

John 4:39-41 says “Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, "He told me everything I ever did." So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers.”

B.
Meanwhile the Disciples get to talking with Him about food—and Yeshua explains that He has food they know nothing about (the House of Israel’s restoration among the Samaritans) and it is to do the will (Torah) of Him who sent Him –The Disciples--who were all Jews--didn’t understand why He would do it this way—talking to the Samaritans?

John 4:35-38 says “Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest. Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. 37Thus the saying 'One sows and another reaps' is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor."

C.
Jesus says to them—do you not say there are 4 months until Harvest (The four months until harvest—are the 4000 years from Creation until the Messiahs arrival in Judah)

John 4:35 says “Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.

D.
The Fields are ripe for Harvest (The Samaritans—the Nations are ripe for Torah and the Testimony of Jesus) Then He mentions the Reaper—the Reaper are Angels by the Spirit of God—the Sower is the Father as the Sower sows the Torah--the Word--and the Spirit does the Harvesting of Souls turning away from the old ways of the Fathers to the new life in Messiah.

John 4:36-38 says “Even now the reaper draws his wages, even now he harvests the crop for eternal life, so that the sower and the reaper may be glad together. Thus the saying 'One sows and another reaps' is true. I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor."

Matthew 13:30 Jesus said “Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.' "

E.
He then tells Judah to go forth and reap—he sent them to the Nations with the Torah and the Testimony of a unified Israel—all one in Him.

Matthew 28:18-20 in commissioning Judah—Jesus said “Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Ephesians 2:11-13 says “Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (that done in the body by the hands of men)— remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ.”

5. Many Samaritans Believe and the Royal Son

A.
Many Samaritans believed because of the belief of the Woman (a picture of the Church) and Jesus stayed with them 2 days (a type and shadow of the last 2000 years) Because of His words (the Living Torah) many more came to believe

John 4:39-42 says “Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman's testimony, "He told me everything I ever did." So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, "We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world."

B.
Then AFTER TWO DAYS a certain Royal Officials Son was Sick—Sick is a Hebraic Idiomatic expression for a condition outside the Torah (The royal son with the Child is—a type and shadow of the Jews in the last day). The Royal Official asked Jesus to come and heal his son. (This is Judah asking for forgiveness after Torah breaks out to the Nations

John 4:43-47 says “After the two days he left for Galilee. (Now Jesus himself had pointed out that a prophet has no honor in his own country.) When he arrived in Galilee, the Galileans welcomed him. They had seen all that he had done in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, for they also had been there. Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.”

C.
He asks Jesus to come down—but Jesus sends Him away with HIS WORD! THE TESTIMONY AND THE TORAH--the Living Word of God. The Royal Official is told His son will live!

John 4: 48-50 says “Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders," Jesus told him, "you will never believe." The royal official said, "Sir, come down before my child dies." Jesus replied, "You may go. Your son will live." The man took Jesus at his word and departed.

D.
The Fever (Sickness—a type and shadow of being separated from the living Torah—Yeshua) left Him in the 7th hour (this is represents the sickness—the Torah separation—Judah’s separation from the Jewish Messiah will end during the 7th year—or the 1000 year millennial reign—the Sabbatical year of the Messiah! Judah will be restored FOLLOWING Torah breaking out among the former Gentile Nations!

John 4:51-54 says “While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, "The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour." Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, "Your son will live." So he and all his household believed. This was the second miraculous sign that Jesus performed, having come from Judea to Galilee.”

Isaiah 2:3 says of the Millennial Reign “Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Micah 4:2-4 says “2 Many nations will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Every man will sit under his own vine and under his own fig tree, and no one will make them afraid, for the LORD Almighty has spoken.”

Parable of the 153 Fish

“The Parable of the 153 Fish” by Pastor Ariel

Three very key points for you to understand before we begin today:

1-We are in NO WAY teaching BRITISH ISRAELISM

And in NO WAY do we believe in: 2—REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY

3--The "TORAH" is the Jewish way of saying the "Word of God" and was commonly used and read at the time of Jesus. It is often called the "Old Testament" today. In Jewish tradition at the time of Jesus, the "TORAH" primarily focuses on the first 5 books "Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy." The New Testament we know today did not yet exist as it was being lived out and the "Torah" was the "Bible" used by Jesus and all his Disciples.

The Parable of the 153 Fish --BACKGROUND

A. Understanding the Biblical “House of Jacob”

1-Your Bible mentions the “House of Israel” which is made up of the 10 1/2 Northern Tribes of Israel aka "Ephraim" and is made up of the Tribes of Reuben, Half of the Tribe of Levi, the Tribes of Asher, the Tribes of Dan, the Tribes of Gad, the Tribes of Naphtali, the Tribes of Issachar, the Tribes of Joseph--which included the Tribes of Manasseh and the Tribes of Ephraim, the Tribes of Simeon, the Tribes of Zebulon

2-The “House of Judah” made up of the Tribes of Judah, Benjamin and the other half the Tribe of Levi--and this is who occupies the Commonwealth of Israel to this day. During the days of Jesus, the House of Judah reigned under Roman supervision.

TOGETHER these make up the Biblical “House of Jacob!” Or the Northern and Southern Tribes called the Commonwealth of Israel

B. Evangelical Dispensationalism –which is what most Pastors were taught in Seminary—did not see what God Is doing Prophetically in these days—In fact, the Apostle Paul calls it a “Mystery” that was before hand hidden but now is revealed in Messiah!

Romans 11:25 says25I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.”

Come in to where? Well according to the Apostle Paul in Romans 11:25 --it's into the Commonwealth of Israel!

and

Romans 16:25 says25Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past”

So this is a "Mystery" that was "Hidden" for long ages past.

1. Jews understand Scripture through 4 primary interpretations methods called the PaRDeS:

The “PaRDeS” are:

P= Pashat—Surface meaning of the Scripture
R= Remez—Looking back in the Word to look forward to a new principle
D= Drash—To Search Out A True Meaning
S= Sod—Divine Revelation from the Scripture

Genesis 35:22-26 says22 While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went in and slept with his father's concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard of it. Jacob had twelve sons: 23 The sons of Leah: Reuben the firstborn of Jacob, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar and Zebulun. 24 The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin. 25 The sons of Rachel's maidservant Bilhah: Dan and Naphtali. 26 The sons of Leah's maidservant Zilpah: Gad and Asher."

1. The 12 Sons of Jacobs went and settled in the land of Israel and they separated in two primary Area’s—with ISRAEL to the North and JUDAH to the South.

A. They all followed Torah during This time period

B. Please write down these two words:

EXILED and DISPERSED

C. The story of The Parable of the 153 Fish is not just the parable we have all grown to know—it is much more than that—it is a PROPHECY of the LAST DAYS Just before the RETURN OF JESUS

Each tribe formed according to the name of Jacobs 12 sons. Rather than using Josephs name over and over—Josephs land was referred to by his Children whom Jacob had blessed “EPHRAIM and MENASHE”

The 12 tribes are often referred to as the House of Jacob—as the 12 tribes all originated from Jacobs loins

As the twelve tribes settled the land of promise—they all had ancestral homeland except “Levi” who inheritance was the Lord!

Throughout the Bible we see animosity between the tribes arise. Judah was Ephraim’s main rival—and even under David that animosity was evident (2 Sam 18; 19:41 20:22.) Discontentment with Solomon's rule in (1 Kings 11:26-40) combined with a foolish decision by Rehoboam—Solomon’s Son—brought about the division of David’s unified Kingdom of Israel

Eventually the Twelve Tribes separated into TWO DISTINCT GROUPS. The two groups are commonly known as the “Northern Tribes” and the “Southern Tribes.” Based on the land division where the Tribes lived.

1. The SOUTHERN TRIBES consisted of:
Judah
Benjamin
½ of the Tribe of Levi

A. Since Judah was the most numerous—these three southern Tribes are known commonly as JUDAH today!

2. The NORTHERN TRIBES--which consisted of: Rueben, Simeon, Issachar, Zebulun, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, ½ the Tribe of Levi, Joseph (also known as Ephraim & Manasseh) ARE KNOWN AS: “EPHRAIM”

So...why all the tension and hostility?? The tension began during the life of David following Absalom’s rebellion (see 2 Sam 20:1) and the rift became complete upon Solomon’s death (see 1 Kings 12:16) for 200 years until the fall of the Northern Kingdom in 722 BC. There were 2 little Kingdoms side by side—a larger one in the Northeast called “Israel” (The 10 tribes of 1 Kings 11:35) and the smaller one in the South called “Judah.”

1. Eventually both Houses were EXILED into another land *The Southern Tribes eventually returned from exile “Even after the exile when Nehemiah led some of the Israelites to reclaim their old land and ways. It was the tiny province of Judah that emerged (Nehemiah 1:2-3) and Judea still remain as a District in the New Testament days (Luke 3:1) ”As prophesied in Scripture the Northern Tribes—after the exile—we DISPERSED AMONG THE NATIONS—having yet to return to their land or the Torah—Therefore the Northern Tribes are referred to as the “Nations” or the “10 Lost Tribes.”

After the Northern Tribes succeeded the capitals Of the North, Shechem, Tirzah and Samaria were situated in Ephraim. The establishment of Samaria by King Omri of Israel—gave the Ephraimites more direct access to the great North-South Trunk Road (called Via Maris) through the western plain. This contact with trade routes gave the Northern Kingdom a greater world consciousness and greater temptation to depart from God and His commands.

The Northern Tribes-- known as the Tribe of EPHRAIM or the House of ISRAEL were EXILED then DISPERSED to Africa, Spain, Europe and America--never to return to Israel again.

The Southern Tribes —consisting of the Tribes of Judah, Benjamin and ½ the Tribe of Levi which were also known as the House of JUDAH —was exiled to Assyria and Babylon for a season-then they returned to the Promised Land.

WHAT MAKES JESUS THE MESSIAH OF ISRAEL? WHAT DID SCRIPTURE REQUIRE HE DO?

Make a way to restore the Covenant Promise God made to King David by unifying the Nation of Israel once more. God made an EVERLASTING covenant with the HOUSE OF DAVID for ALL GENERATIONS TO COME

2 Samuel 7:11a-17 says “" 'The LORD declares to you that the LORD himself will establish a house for you: 12 When your days are over and you rest with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, who will come from your own body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with the rod of men, with floggings inflicted by men. 15 But my love will never be taken away from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.' "17 Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation."

To fully understand this parable it is important for you to remember the mission Yeshua came to accomplish while being the atoning sacrifice for all nations.

John 21:1-12 says “1Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Tiberias. It happened this way: 2Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathaniel from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. 3"I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them, and they said, "We'll go with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. 4Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. 5He called out to them, "Friends, haven't you any fish?" "No," they answered. 6He said, "Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some." When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. 7Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. 8The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards. 9When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. 10Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught." 11Simon Peter climbed aboard and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. 12Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord. 13Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. 14This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead."

Simon Peter is with a group of Disciples--there were 7 there in total--and He decides he is going out to fish. He fishes all night and catches nothing. (John 21:1-3)

Fishing is a Hebrew idiom for looking for the harvesting of the Holy Spirit into the Kingdom of God.

Going out "at night" is a Hebrew idiom meaning--going out WITHOUT the TORAH--which comes from the Hebrew root word “ORAH” which means “LIGHT.”

They were in a Boat on the Sea. The “7 Disciples in the Boat” stands for the religious system of the 7 laws of Noah-- ALL pious Jews believed that Gentiles were to keep the 7 laws God gave to Noah following the flood--but they believed that Gentiles were not chosen by God to be part of Israel--unless they became circumcised and became Jews.

Sea in Hebrew means “people grouping and grouping of people.”

Early in the morning Yeshua stood on the shore, but the Disciples did not realize it was Jesus! (John 21:4)

This represents the failure of the Disciples of the Lord today to recognize that Yeshua and the covenant of Moses are the SAME WORD OF GOD. Even as the Disciples of Jesus did not recognize him at first--so too--most Church folks today do not recognize the reunification of the ENTIRE House of Israel--both Ephraim (the Nations) and redeemed Judah!

Jesus tells them to throw their nets on the RIGHT SIDE of the boat --and they would find some (John 21:5-6)

THEY CAUGHT NOTHING during the DARKNESS--but WHEN THEY OBEYED the EXACT WORDS of the LIVING TORAH--Jesus Christ--They caught more fish than they could carry in.

This represents our lives following our Salvation experience. We try to walk in obedience, but we do not seem to walk in the ABUNDANT ABUNDANCE that we were promised at Salvation. But when we begin to OBEY the TORAH --Jesus IS the TORAH [John 1:1] --then we begin to move into gain and increase--instead of lack and decrease.

Then John the PRIEST recognizes JESUS. (John 21:7) A true Prophet, Priest and King of the last days according to Ezekiel 44:22-23 says “23 They are to teach my people the difference between the holy and the common and show them how to distinguish between the unclean and the clean. 24 " 'In any dispute, the priests are to serve as judges and decide it according to my ordinances.[Torah] They are to keep my laws [Torah] and my decrees [Torah] for all my appointed feasts, [Moedim--or Feast Days] and they are to keep my Sabbaths holy.

John, the LEVITE PRIEST recognizes the Lord first and tells PETER! This is a type and Shadow of THE CHURCH [Ephraim] being reunified with Judah to make up the 2 witnesses of the book of Daniel and Revelation!

When Peter hears it is JESUS he wraps his OUTER GARMENT around him and dives into the Sea. The other Disciples come in the boat towing in all the fish for they were not far from shore. (John 21:7-8)

Peter had not been wearing his TALLIT- or "Jewish Prayer Shawl"-which represents the Holy Spirit to a Hebrew. He put it on immediately and jumped into the sea--this is a type and shadow of the outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT into all PEOPLE GROUPINGS and GROUPINGS OF PEOPLE (Which is meant by using the Hebrew idiom "The Sea.")

The other Disciples were not far from shore--which is a way of showing that the people of God as represented by the fish--were not far from Jesus--but they couldn’t get to ABUNDANCE without OBEDIENCE that comes from keeping the Torah by the Holy Spirit.

When they arrived they found a fire of BURNING COALS with fish ON IT. (John 21:9) This is a type and Shadow of the JEWISH REMNANT that God has kept by His Spirit prepared for the GREAT HARVEST OF SOULS during the time of JACOBS TROUBLE--or Tribulation--where God will purify all by fire!

Jesus tells them to bring some of the Fish they just caught--which represent the believers in Jesus who will return to obeying ALL of Gods Torah and the Testimony of Jesus called the New Testament. (John 21:10)

SO WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN??

Biblical Archeologists in Israel have found the remains of 153 species of Fish in the sediment of the Sea of Galilee at the time of Jesus. The Parable of the 153 Fish represent EVERY NATION and EVERY PEOPLE under heaven who HAVE BEEN GRAFTED INTO THE NATURAL OLIVE TREE that is the UNIFIED PEOPLE CALLED THE COMMONWEALTH OF “ISRAEL.”

When Jesus invites the Disciples to breakfast--this is a type and Shadow of the Feast of Tabernacles called "Sukkot"--or what the Church calls the “Wedding Supper of the Lamb.”

The Disciples who HAD NOT recognized the Lord at first-did not ask “WHO ARE YOU” for they all knew him in fulfillment of Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Hebrews 8:8-11 when the Scripture says "31 The time is coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the “house of Israel” and with the “house of Judah.” 32 It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them, "declares the LORD. 33 "This is the covenant I will make with “the [UNIFIED] house of Israel” after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law [Torah] in their minds and write it on their hearts. [This is the great FISHING NET] I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
